Meadowcroft's pamphlet is well timed for the resurgent interest in electoral reform and clearly and succinctly puts the arguments in favour of reform and evaluates the different systems. It explains why the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system is the best of those on offer and why the Alternative Vote is a poor alternative. The Alternative Vote (AV) will be an improvement but only slightly redress imbalance.
