Congratulations to Elwyn Watkins in winning the nomination. Elwyn will be a first class candidate for all of Oldham East, Shaw & Crompton and Saddleworth. Well done also to Mark Alcock, Jackie Pearcey and Helen Foster-Grime for impressive and well fought campaigns. It was one of the strongest fields of candidates for a selection that I have ever seen. Any one will make an excellent MP and demonstrate the wealth of talent available in the Liberal Democrats. I was very impressed and was pleased to hear positive feedback about all from members across the constituency .. members who are raring to go to elect a Liberal Democrat MP who will stand up for Oldham East and Saddleworth.
